Aims and Scope

"Astan Quds Razavi, with a history of more than a thousand years, enjoys a heritage of one of the largest treasures of historical, artistic, scholarly, manuscripts, and architecture. Preservation, maintenance, restoration and Addition to this precious treasure are the important recommendations of the supreme leader of the revolution to the honorable custodian of Astan Quds Razavi.

Objectives:

  • Creating opportunities for expert researchers in various fields of Iranian Islamic history and art in order to examine, describe, and analyze the works and exquisite assets available in Astan Quds Razavi.
  • Efforts to share knowledge to provide the addressees with access to the latest findings in the field of Iranian history and art, which is achieved through the introduction of Razavi heritage.
  • Introduction of endowment works and their endowers in order to develop endowed properties.
  • Compilation of the history of Razavi Shrine based on the study and investigation of Razavi cultural heritage.
  • Familiarization with the history of Razavi Holy Shrine.
  • Promotion of intra-organizational knowledge.
  • Production of scholarly content on the subject of historical works and buildings of the Holy Shrine based on first-hand sources.
  • Using research results for scholarly classification and documentography of works with the aim of systematic preservation and protection of Razavi works and heritage.
  • Developing fields of communication and interaction with expert addressees, cultural elites and the academic community.
  • Promoting and updating the knowledge of museum curatorship.
  • Providing information and scholarly introduction of available works and resources for the addressees.
  • Familiarizing the visitors of Razavi Museum with the scholarly, artistic and historical capacities of Astan Quds Razavi.

    • The history of the formation and development of the Razavi Holy Shrine and its buildings, Astan Quds Museum, the complexes and conservation and restoration of works
    • Investigating the architecture and historical-cultural works available in the Astan Quds Razavi complexes
    • Aesthetics and philosophy of ritual art in the Iranian world
    • The mutual influence of the Iranian world and the Islamic world in the artistic, cultural and social fields
    • Complexes, museums, museum curatorship and technologies related to museology
    • Preservation and restoration of historical and cultural works
